To be able to deal with anglophone person, I need to understand the person I was speaking to, that is to say to understand the words that he articulates more or less.
That’s why, I chose to work my oral comprehension, and especially with American accent.
The principle was to listen sentences on varied subjects and then to write on computer the words or the groups of words what we have understood.
I had to listen the sentences several times to understand every words of sentence.
In the beginning, I found this exercise very hard, and then at the end of first hour, I managed better to understand the different words.
In addition my oral comprehension, it was a good exercise to work pronunciation. Indeed, I gave an account of the pronunciation of words was different, which I thought ad I pronounced.
Thanks to this exercise, I have learned to be concentrate on the tone end pronunciation of words. Nevertheless, the meaning wasn’t always known, but it could be guessed by the context.
In conclusion, I think I have realized a very important exercise and, which will deserve more time.
