Le fait que...?
Message de mae_lia posté le 03-03-2005 à 20:57:12 (S | E | F | I)
hello everyone(again!!)
"The fact me to be there drives him happy."
?? Merci à tous!

bonsoir,
pour moi "le fait que" ne se traduit pas en anglais, je dirais being there make him happy

Personnellement je traduirais :mais....
- Only by being there, I make him happy.
-ou: Owing to the fact that I am there, he is happy.
-ou: By the mere fact of being there, I make him happy.

-The only thing which afraids me is the fact that you could see her.(pour "que tu POURRAIS la voir") ?????
-The only thing which afraids me is the| idea of you seeing her!
|fact
Merci!

I'd say : "you might see her and that's what frightens me/that's the one thing that frightens me/that very thing frightens me".

I'm just afraid (that) you might see her.
The only thing I'm worried about is that you might see her.
