    Hello,

Je suppose que vous devez reformuler les phrases ainsi par exemple:
    1)Sally and Althea exchanged glances.
Sally and Althea looked at each other.

A vous d'imaginer quels mots choisir si vous n'avez pas d'autres indications.
Merci de proposer votre travail, nous ne le ferons pas pour vous.

    Regards.

    J'ai déjà fait les 6 premières :

    1)Sally and Althea exchanged glances.
Sally and Althea looked at each other

2)The two women had got guns.
    They both had got guns.

3)Sally had got a knife in her pocket. Althea too.
Sally had got a knife in her pocket. So had Althea.

4)Sally did not trust Althea. Althea did not trust Sally.
Neither Sally nor Althea thought the other was trustworthy.

5)Cary and George are colleagues at work.
Cary works in the same Factory as George

6)Althea and Sally stood on either side of the door.
They positioned themselves on either side of the door.

Par contre pour la suite, je ne vois absolument pas quoi mettre

    Hello,

4)Sally did not trust Althea. Althea did not trust Sally.
Neither Sally nor Althea thought the other was trustworthy.

5)Cary and George are colleagues at work.
Cary works in the same Factory as George

Je chercherais une autre tournure; apparemment votre exercice porte sur neither/both/each other etc...ces 2 phrases sont un peu lourdes.

    4) Sally and Althea didn't trust ....
    5) Both Cary and George....

Vous êtes sur la bonne voie.

    1)Sally and Althea exchanged glances.
Sally and Althea looked at each other - excellent

2)The two women had got guns.
They both had got guns. Good! or: Both of them...

3)Sally had got a knife in her pocket. Althea too.
Sally had got a knife in her pocket. So had Althea. - yes - I thought of the same thing.

4)Sally did not trust Althea. Althea did not trust Sally.
Neither Sally nor Althea thought the other was trustworthy. - This is the same thing I thought of. Excellent.

5)Cary and George are colleagues at work.
Cary works in the same Factory as George - Good!

6)Althea and Sally stood on either side of the door.
They positioned themselves on either side of the door. -This is what I thought of too. Good.

7)She pronounced the words but regretted it immediately..
Even if had she pronounced the words immediatly she regretted it. - This is a hard one. I have a real difficult time coming up with a way to fill those 2 spaces! The order "had she" turns it into a question. Try starting with a question word.

8)She stepped back so that she would be behind the door.
She stepped back and so be behind the door. no this doesn't work. Try again.

9)Why did she tell this woman she was going out?
She shouldn't talk this woman she was going out. no - try something with the past tense of tell. use the Past anterior I think.

10)How quiet life was in those days!
It was other quiet life in those days! No - this doesn't work.

    Bonsoir,

    Quelques suggestions:

She stepped back so that she would be behind the door.
She stepped back and so be infinitive verb behind the door.

9)Why did she tell this woman she was going out?
She shouldn't talk (use the same verb as above) this woman she was going out.

10)How quiet life was in those days!
It was other (such+article) quiet life in those days!

    Hope this helps

    Bonjour.

7)She pronounced the words but regretted it immediately..
.........had she pronounced the words..... she regretted it.

Pour compléter cette phrase vous pouvez utiliser l'une des deux structures:

    No sooner ... than
    ou
    Hardly ... when

Ne pas oublier de faire l'inversion sujet-verbe après no sooner et hardly

No sooner et hardly sont considérés comme des termes négatifs.

No sooner had I closed the door than somebody knocked.
    Vous pouvez aussi écrire,
Hardly had I closed the door when somebody knocked.

Toutefois dans un niveau de langue moins littéraire vous pouvez écrire

I had no sooner closed the door than somebody knocked.
I had hardly closed the door when somebody knocked.

    (pas d'inversion cette fois-ci)

En ce qui concerne la dernière phrase.

    Good evening

Well I see everyone is slowly getting there....what a great exercise!!

    N° 9: If I were you ......... (and I'm not! may I make a suggestion

as this sentence is in the past tense. So, maybe you could say:

"She shouldn't + auxiliary + past participle that she was going ...."

    Amitiés
