    Lecture CE2, CM1, CM2 Besoin d'aide
    Message de exprofefl posté le 01-08-2009 à 02:37:02 (S | E | F)

    Bonjour!

    Good morning Mr Exprof!

I am an anglophone living in France (34 at the end of my name denotes the Herault Region) and I work in primary schools. The teachers in my school use books by Publishers such as Bordas (Larousse Bordas) and Hachette. (43 quai de Grenelle, F75905 Paris Cedex 15. I am sure if you did a Google search on these publishers, you would be able to order the schoolbooks on line. Here are two examples:
    1) Publisher: Bordas. L'Atelier de Français Cycle 2 (CP - CE1) "Mon Bibliotexte" ISBN N° 9 782040 287801
    2) Publisher: Hachette. "A portée de mots" CE2 Cycle 3
ISBN N° 201116211-4 This particular book is great and contains, Grammar, Conjugation, Spelling, Vocabulary and Written Expression.

These two examples are not very modern, but I found them to be good for me!

I also bought a book (sort of 450 exercises) to prepare for the DELF (which is like First Certificate for non anglophones) and I really enjoyed doing it because each chapter dealt with a different aspect of French life. Art and Cinema for example, the Social Security System, the Administrative System and each chapter had a different verb tense. I shall try and hunt it out for you today and give you the details.

Good luck in your quest, I hope I have been of some help.
    Intrepid

Je te conseille d'aller sur des sites d'éditeurs français:
Bordas, Hachette, Didier, Nathan,...puis dans la rubrique "primaire". Tu devrais trouver facilement. Bon courage.

Thank you for your replies! I'm not really interested in reading materials for CP or CE1, which are too simple for my purposes. I have already searched the websites of the various publishers in France for CE2, CM1, CM2 anthologies of reading materials (extraits) but have not been able to find exactly what I was looking for. For these three grades, there seem to be few anthologies of varied reading selections (extraits). Most of the texts that I found are a combination of French grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and reading in one book, which is what I do not want. And only a few of the websites allow me to have a glance at what's inside the textbook. In addition, the search programs for the websites are not very helpful (especially the one for Hachette -- which is very frustrating). That is why I addressed my question to elementary school teachers in France, since you have a much better practical knowledge of what's available than I do. You see, I am not interested in texts that deal with French grammar, spelling, or vocabulary per se. I am interested in those materials that are focused on helping pupils in CE2, CM1, and/or CM2 to develop their READING skills.

It seems that this kind of book (an anthology of varied reading selections with commentary, questions and exercises after each selection) is much more easily available for the "collège" grades than for "élémentaire." For 6e, 5e, 4e, and 3e, I have been able to find what I want: the Textocollège series (by Hachette), for example.

I recall that when I was in the fourth grade (here in the U.S.), which, as I understand it, is the equivalent of CM 1, we had an anthology of short stories, myths, fairy tales and poems, which I enjoyed very much. I am looking for something similar in French. Perhaps this kind of anthology does not exist for the CE2, CM1, and CM2 levels.

    Anyway, I appreciate your help!

Si j'ai bien compris ce que tu cherches (mon anglais est approximatif), tu devrais trouver sur les sites pré-cités, dans la rubrique "enseignants ou professeurs",(en général, il faut s'inscrire au préalable) puis en tapant "livre de lecture" ou "textes de lecture" puis livre du maître/professeur.
Je ne peux t'aider davantage, n'enseignant pas le français.
    Bon courage pour tes recherches.

    Hello again!

The book "Mon Biblitexte" that I mentioned earlier exists at all primary levels, thus up to CM2. It is a book that consists pf texts, poems, fairy tales etc. it is in fact a reading book.

You can try looking at "Courte Echelle" published by Hatier at all levels. This consists of texts with questions and then a grammar lesson.

I understand what you're looking for as we had the same type of book when I was at school. I will check out the library at school when I return after summer break.

Keep hunting because I am sure you will find what best adapts to your situation.

Glad to have been of some help!

    - And sure, I'll suss out the book of exercises. I have a sieve for a brain, so I'll put a "post-it" on the fridge - old age creeping up, you know!

Check this space in about a week. Or I'll send you a private message.

    Happy reading!

    Bonne lecture
