    Hi,You can't say that it.because in one sentence the verb is only one.In your words the are two verbs both of "was" and"ate".The word of ate is a past tense about the eat.Do you understand?

    i don't understand because my teacher in my college who is from Canada said that you can say i was ate.

    I have never heard of 'I was ate' either. Are you sure that was what your teacher actually said? Perhaps you misheard him.
