Quite/Very/Really

Hello everyone,

I would like to know the differences about these words: Very, really, quite

Especially quite, because I know that it is unusual in American English than in British English, so I believe that this word doesn't means "assez, plutôt" in U.S English, does it? But it would means rather "very, really" like above.

Therefore, I have got a sentence and I think it is written in U.S English:
It appears you can see me quite well.
I think that in British English, it should mean: Il semble que vous pouvez me voir assez (plutôt) bien.
Whereas in U.S English, it should mean: Il semble que vous pouvez me voir très bien. or: Il semble que vous pouvez tout à fait me voir.

quite good is not bad but very good is much better and really good is the best!

But, Are you speaking about the British meaning of Quite?

Because, I believe that the meaning of quite in U.S English is not the same one. But I would like to have more confirmation about what I have just said.

Hello, thank you for your replies,

I became aware of your links.

Then given the sentence is in U.S English, I would opt while considering you have said before: "Il semble que vous pouvez très bien me voir or il semble que pouvez parfaitement me voir".

But what I don't understand is the difference between 'very/really' and 'quite'; Because I know that quite - in U.S English according to your links - means: 'tout à fait, complètement, très'. But does it(quite) has the same meaning as 'very/really'?

As for example: when I say: Je te vois très bien = I see you very well. But: I see you quite well, does that sentence mean the same as the previous one?
