I did not know the Scotts for long before they took me away. In fact I only met them once before.
The moment l laid eyes on Mrs Scott she made my stomach churn .If I was apprehensive about her it was the opposite feeling for the affable M Scott who made a fuss of me.

I did not know the Scotts for long (not the good tense: you have to use the past perfect) before they took me away. In fact I only met them once before.(the same remark)
The moment l laid (you have to add a possessive adjective)eyes on Mrs Scott she made my stomach churn .If I was apprehensive about her it was the opposite feeling for the affable M Scott who made a fuss of me.
