Here is my work:
1- To make a quick, tapping sound (rain, footsteps etc). (t r p t) 2 patter = crépitement de la pluie. Pitter-patter = bruit de petits pas.
2- To (cause to) burn on the surface; to scorch. (g s n) 2 singe = brûler légèrement, roussir.
3- A mischievous child. (p m) imp = diablotin, coquin.
4- The driver of a horsedrawn carriage. (h c m c n) 3 coachman = cocher.
5- Struck with horror. (g t h s) 2 aghast = horrifié.
6- A strange person or thing. (d t d) 3 oddity = étrangeté, bizarrerie.
7- A rope or chain for tying an animal to a post etc. (h r t t) 2 tether = une laisse.
8- To feel a great desire; to long. (r y n) 2 yearn = avoir très envie de qqch.
